Sony gave us a first look at the upcoming adaptation today
Sony Pictures published their "film first look" trailer on their YouTube channel today. The trailer was short and sweet but it did reveal certain changes the film will make when compared to the game. The film will take an edge of tomorrow approach in which the protagonists will get another chance at life when they die as time rewinds and puts then into different "horror genres" that they must find their way out of. Director David F Sandberg has claimed the film will have the "same tone and the same vibe" of the game while "expanding on the universe".
The star studded names from the game like Rami Malek and Hayden Panettiere won't be making a return here, however the legendary Peter Stormare will be making his return as Doctor Alan J Hill: The eerie Psychiatrist in the game.
The film is scheduled to release on April 25th this year.
