GSC Gameworld announced the numbers on their X account

GSC Gameworld announce that "one million copies" of Stalker 2 have been sold after its release on Friday while "much more stalkers joined the hunt with Game pass".

This announcement along with an all time peak player count of 117,928 on steam suggest the game is off to a strong start despite it's numerous technical issues, a lot of which were highlighted in VGC's review of the game. These issues are of course understandable given the real life circumstances the Ukrainian studio have faced during development, not least moving their studio to Prague in the wake of the war.

The tweet suggests fixes and much more is yet to come saying that "this is just the start of our unforgettable adventure". The player count is still currently sitting at over 100k as of writing this article, so the strong start has maintained over the weekend, a great result for the studio who have faced many trials over the past couple of years.
