Legendary Japanese developer Hideaki Itsuno leaves Capcom after over 30 years

Director of Devil May Cry and Dragon's Dogma took to Twitter to announce his departure this week while hinting at what's next

The acclaimed director urged fans to "continue to support Capcom's games and characters" while teasing that he will be "developing a new game in a new environment" from September. The announcement comes as somewhat of a surprise given the success of both series' that he has helmed with Devil May Cry coming up on its 6th instalment and Dragon's Dogma's long awaited sequel being a critical and commercial success earlier this year.

Only time will tell what Itsuno's next project will be but his loss is an undeniable blow to Capcom with him being a developer there for 30 years and five months, working on other titles such as Power Stone, Street Fighter and the Resident Evil Outbreak series in his time with the company.
