Korean publisher Krafton Inc yesterday announced that they will be acquiring Japanese studio Tango Gameworks just three months after they were shut down by Microsoft studios.
Krafton also confirmed they intent to collaborate with Xbox and Zenimax to “ensure a smooth transition and maintain continuity at Tango Gameworks”. This includes continuing work on the acclaimed Hi-Fi Rush franchise which could also open the door for further sequels to The Evil Within and Ghostwire: Tokyo respectively.
This could also bode well for other studios recently closed by Microsoft as the company seem to be open to allowing former studios to continue building on IPs they worked on and created while part of Microsoft studios.
The addition of Tango now brings Krafton’s portfolio of studios to 10 which includes the like of PUBG studios, The Ascent creators Neon Giant and Callisto protocol developers Striking Distance.
