Horizon Clone: Light of Motiram developer Polaris reveals 16 minutes of gameplay

Palworld 2.0 is coming to PS5 and IOS

Tencent owned Devs Polaris have revealed 16 minutes of gameplay from their new title: Light of Motiram on YouTube on Friday.

The title has been heavily criticized for being a "Horizon Clone" and this latest look at the gameplay doesn't do much to change that view. While the title does include elements Horizon lacked such as survival mechanics like building as well as the addition of co-op multiplayer, the gameplay trailer also revealed several similarities to Aloy's PS Exclusive. The main danger is Mechanimals who strongly resemble the machines found in Horizon, you also face harsh conditions as "humanity struggles to rebuild", almost like their was some kind of apocalypse and your main weapons are spears and bows, much like your go-to gear in Horizon.

The addition of survival mechanics harken back to the hugely popular Palworld which was released earlier this year. This game also had building and survival mechanics but was heavily accused of plagiarising Pokémon, with extremely similar character designs as well as urging players to catch them all using "pal spheres" rather than pokeballs. The similarities eventually led to a lawsuit being filed against Palworld for infringement on multiple patent rights.

Only time, and the release of Light of Motiram to see the extent of the similarities will tell whether or not Sony will adopt the same approach as the Pokémon company.
