Guerrilla Games recast Sylens for Upcoming Lego Horizon Adventures

Original voice actor Lance Reddick tragically passed away in March last year

Guerrilla games announce, via a statement given to IGN, that they have recast the series main Antagonist: Sylens, voiced by the late Lance Reddick, for their upcoming Lego spin off which is slated for a 14th of November release.

Guerrilla's senior world artist Lucas Bolt, said this when speaking to IGN during their final previews for the game:

"He wonderfully portrayed the essential character of Sylens in Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West. The character of Sylens does appear in LEGO Horizon Adventures, and we will introduce the new actor at a later date. Hearing the voices of other original actors including Ashly Burch as Aloy, JB Blanc as Rost, John Macmillan as Varl and John Hopkins as Erend has really brought back the tone of comradery found in the original game."

As well as iconic roles in films like John Wick and hit TV series The Wire, Reddick also appeared in some memorable video game roles including Sylens from all iterations of Horizon, Commander Zavala in the Destiny franchise and Quantum Break as Martin Hatch. The latter of which caused many fans to speculate as to whether or not Reddick was due to appear in Alan Wake 2 as Mr. Door before his untimely death.

While the new voice actor is yet to be revealed, we will find out sooner rather than later with the game scheduled to release next month. A more interesting question is perhaps whether or not this new actor will also do mocap for the inevitable Horizon 3 title further down the line.
