Elden Ring hits 30 million players milestone

Achievement comes 3 years after its initial release

From Software took to X this week to reveal that Elden Ring has amassed over 30 million players in the three years since its release.

The Devs thanked fans for their "lasting devotion" as the title seen over 30 million Tarnished gracing The Lands Between.

At the tail end of last year, FromSoft revealed that the title had outsold the entire Dark Souls franchise with 28.6 million units shifted with that number now surpassing 30 and set to climb even higher once the title is released on Switch 2.

These staggering numbers were revealed in December in tandem with the reveal trailer of their latest title in the franchise, Elden Ring: Nightreign. This new title is due to be a fully multiplayer experience and will be released on the 30th of May this year, a departure from their tried and tested single player formula. However, From Software will still hold high hopes for the title given the rate Elden Ring's player base continues to climb at despite being so far removed from its release.

The original title remains one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time with a 96 Metascore and an 8.2 User score. A direct sequel to Elden Ring is yet to be announced.
